Pictured Above: Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin impersonating Kellyanne Conway and Donald Trump Once again, Donald Trump and SNL feuded over a controversial skit (aired December third). This skit in particular, including “Mr. Trump” (played by Alec Baldwin) and “Kellyanne Conway” (Kate McKinnon), was about Mr. Trump’s reckless tweeting. In the skit, Ms. McKinnon’s Conway tried to explain Mr. Trump’s Twitter behavior by saying, “He does it to distract the media from his business conflicts and all of the very scary people in his cabinet” (SNL). However, Mr. Baldwin’s Trump stated “I do it because my brain is bad” (SNL). Coincidentally, the real-life Donald Trump retaliated by tweeting about the SNL skit. Using his usual language, he called the show “biased and unfunny, singling out Mr. Baldwin’s impersonation of him” (New York Times). In return, Mr. Baldwin tweeted by saying, “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop. Ha” (New York Times). I think that all Mr. Trump did was give SNL more of a reason to do more skits about him. His reckless use of Twitter has caused a lot of controversy, and because he lashed out at SNL (once again), he just proved their point.
